Task Force Education and Youth

Stability Pact for South Eastern Europe
Working Table 1 (Democratisation and Human Rights)

This Homepage Project has been set up by KulturKontakt Austria, which is presently in charge of the coordination of "Task Force Education and Youth" of the "Enhanced Graz Process" (Staility Pact for South East Europe, Working Table 1).

In order to respond to the need - highlighted by the Kosovo crisis - to establish peace, stability and economic development in the region, a Stability Pact for South Eastern Europe was launched (10 June 1999) under the German EU-presidency. In three Working Tables strategies and action plans are being developed for different priority areas and their implementation is being co-ordinated.

At the first meeting of Working Table 1, 18/19 October 1999 in Geneva the Stability Pact included "education" as a priority area and asked the Task Force of the "Graz Process" to co-ordinate the Task Force on Education and Youth within the Stability Pact. The Enhanced Task Force has currently about 40 members, including leading international and European institutions, the past, current and future EU-presidencies and a considerable number of SEE countries. It is open to all signatory states and organisations of the Stability Pact.

Current members are:
