Peter Emerson (Belfast), veteran (the oldest one, since Florian gave up of the title...), and next year seminar participant (after painful absence from this year's event) ======================================================= Dear colleagues, I hereby invite you to announce your participation and call to submit papers at the Seventh International Seminar "Democracy and Human Rights in Multiethnic Societies", which is to be held from 11-15 July, 2004, in Konjic, B&H. Seminar is organized in co-operation with Department of Comparative Politics and Rokkan Centre, University of Bergen, Norway, and supported by the Project "The Politics of Democratic and Welfare Development in South Eastern Europe: a Network for Research and Education", backed by the Center for International University Cooperation and Norwegian Research Council, Oslo. I kindly request you to ensure the announcement of your participation immediately, including your co-ordinates (institution, city, country). Working titles of presentations are welcome at this stage. Participants are encouraged to propose and organize workshops and panels. Any other initiative on your part will be highly appreciated. Students, women, members of minority groups, as well as disabled persons are encouraged to participate. A number of grants for travel and accommodation for participants from Albania, Belorussia, Bosnia-Hercegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Macedonia, Moldova, Romania, Serbia/Montenegro and Ukraine, are available owing to the support already provided by the sponsors. Application deadline for financial support: December 1, 2004 Organizers hope to ensure additional grants for participants from Eastern Europe, Asia and Africa, and are undertaking necessary moves to provide it timely.
