Institute of Turkish Studies Grants for 2005-06 Grants Program Since 1983, the Institute has sponsored an annual grant program that offers a variety of awards to individual scholars, colleges and universities in the United States. The principal purpose of the grant program is to support and encourage the development of research, scholarship, and learning in the field of Turkish Studies in the US. All grant applications submitted to the Institute are evaluated by committees comprised of the academic members of the Board of Governors and Associate Members of the ITS. These standing committees present their recommendations to the Board of Governors for its approval. The Institute will offer grants and fellowships in the field of Ottoman and Modern Turkish Studies to graduate students, post-doctoral scholars, universities, and other educational institutions through its Grant Program for the 2005-2006 academic year. The annual budget for the Grants Program has been significantly expanded and ITS encourages qualified applicants to apply for its grants.
