South East European NGO Festival, 
Novi Sad, 1.-5.12.2004

 

 South East European NGO Festival from 1st till 5th December 2004
Novi Sad, Serbia and Montenegro

 Festival is organized by Youth Council of Vojvodina – Nature
Conservation Agency - Voluntary Center of Vojvodina in
cooperation with Ecumenical Humanitarian Organization, South East
European Youth Network, USAID CRDA Program and Provincial
Secretariat for Environment Protection and Sustainable
Development It will take place from 1st till 5th December 2004 in
Sports and Business Center "Vojvodina" in Novi Sad, Serbia and
Montenegro. It will be open for visitors during all 5 days from
9.00 AM till 9.00 PM.

 NGO Festival Idea:

 Main idea of this Festival is to gather NGOs in one place,
especially youth NGOs working in South East Europe. The Festival
is a fair-like exhibition, during which NGOs will have multiple
opportunities to present themselves and to make contact with
other similar organizations.

 

 Every day of the Festival has its main subject:

 First day is World AIDS Day ? 1st December,

 Second day is Youth Day, 2nd December,

 Third day - International Day of People with Disabilities 3rd
December,

 Fourth day - Environment Day, 4th December,

 Fifth day is International Volunteer Day, 5th December.

 

 Through activities of each day and presentations of
organizations participants will have the opportunity to make new
contacts and lay foundations for new networks of cooperation,
while enforcing existing ones. Also, the Festival will have great
media coverage which will be great opportunity for presenting
entire NGO sector to wider population and influence government
institutions.

 Who can apply?

 Any non-governmental organization working actively in one of the
themes is more than welcome to apply. There is no participation
fee.

 Why?

 Participation in this Festival: every organization has the
opportunity to present itself, expand existing network of
cooperation and create new ones. One of the main goals is to
strengthen civil society and NGO sector through its presentation
to government institutions. Large media coverage is expected
which provides for participants presentation to wide population.
This kind of presenting NGO sector is very important for
visibility of its work and influence to other sectors.

 -Presentation of Youth Policy in Vojvodina, Youth Policy Action
Plan in SEE, debates on youth employment, workshops

 3rd December - International Day of People with Disabilities
Host: Resource center - Ecumenical Humanitarian Organization

 -presentation and trial of Life Tool computer accessories for
people with disabilities, documentary movies, demonstration of
employment models for People With Disabilities, exhibit of
photographs.

 4th December Environment Day Host: Nature Conservation Agency

 -"Youth and Environment" Conference
