Safe Area Srebrenica, July 1995" Location: Sarajevo and Srebrenica, Bosnia-Herzegovina Date: July 10-14, 2005 This summer marks the tenth anniversary of the largest genocidal massacre in Europe since the Holocaust. To honor the memory of the more than 8,000 Bosnian Muslim victims of Srebrenica, the Institute for the Research of Crimes Against Humanity and International Law (University of Sarajevo) is hosting an international academic conference from July 10-14 in Sarajevo and Srebrenica. Conference participants will have the opportunity to attend a re-burial ceremony for a newly identified victim group, to visit the museum/memorial center in Potocari, and to witness the exhumation of a mass grave in the Srebrenica area. Scholars interested in giving a paper at the conference are invited to consider all aspects of the Bosnian Genocide, including social, political, cultural, and religious dimensions. Papers on Srebrenica itself are particularly welcome. To submit a proposal, please send a short summary of the paper by February 1, 2005, to Professors Paul Miller and Smail Cekic at: institut_zl@hotmail.com.
