EU & Western Balkans, Sarajevo, 9-13.11. 2004 EU & WESTERN BALKANS Sarajevo, 9-13th November 2004 The application deadline of the EU & Western Balkans conference has been prolonged. So you still have time to join it! This is a conference organised by AEGEE-Sarajevo and International Politics Working Group – important bodies of the European students’ forum AEGEE (Association des Etats Généraux des Etudiants de l’Europe), with over 17.000 members in 42 European Countries. The conference is part of a larger project called "EU and Europe", an original initiative that aims at analysing the aspects of identity in Europe from the historical, political, economical, cultural and personal points of view with reference to particular countries or regions (put together due to their similar relations with the EU) such as the Western Balkans, Russia, Belarus, Turkey, Romania and Bulgaria. We will also conduct a survey and publish the findings of the entire project. One of the conferences of this project, called "EU and Western Balkans" will focus on this region. The seminar is scheduled to take place during 9th-13th of November 2003 in Sarajevo. Forty-five young people from all over Europe, out of which a significant number from this region, are expected to take part in this conference that will mainly debate the current relations between different parts of this region and the European Union, as well as the challenges that the Balkans are facing for EU accession.
