EDC-QA TOOL
The
Tool for Quality Assurance of Education for Democratic Citizenship in Schools focuses
on education for democratic citizenship (EDC) and applies the principles and
processes of quality assurance to EDC. It promotes school development planning
and school
self-evaluation. It
provides an evaluative framework for schools which includes 6 quality indicators
newly developed for this Tool based on EDC principles. It also considers the
requirements for quality assurance of EDC at the level of the education system.

STOCKTAKING STUDY ON QUALITY ASSURANCE
IN EDUCATION AND EDC
The objective of the Stocktaking study was to map out, through the
preparation of country reports, the current situation of quality assurance in
education and EDC in the countries of Southeast Europe,
as a basis for developing an EDC-QA instrument or Tool, and to develop and
strengthen EDC-QA in these countries.

An institutional overview
CEPS, the coordinating
institution of the EDC-QA project, was commissioned by the Council of Europe to
prepare this study which describes
activities, their approaches and working methods, carried out in
the field of quality assurance in education and for education for democratic
citizenship EDC) by key international players in these fields
